Reflecting His Beauty

Do you enjoy watching the Antiques Road Show? I love seeing all the various items that are appraised. Some things take the owner by surprise, being more valuable than the owner thought, while others are a huge disappointment.

Recently, we saw an interesting item brought in for appraisal. It was a dragonfly pin with translucent wings, resembling stained glass. The owner had received it as a wedding gift from her husband 55 years ago, and it was thought to be much older, and made in France. It was enameled in the pique-a-jour style.

Unfortunately, the pin was an imitation, made in Spain around the time she received it.
As I thought about the dragonfly pin, shimmering in the light, I was reminded of the beauty of Jesus being reflected and radiating through my life, with nothing to impede the light shining through. Jesus, may it be so.
